Belonging to the Böker Plus line, the Yokai is a tactical knife characterized by an aggressive modified tanto style blade and a very comfortable handle with original texture.
Designed by Alessandra De Santis (aka Hydra Design), the Yokai takes its name from the supernatural creatures of Japanese folklore. The characteristics of the yōkai are manifold, ranging from malevolent entities to those that are considered to bring good fortune to those who encounter them.
The Yokai folding knife features a liner-lock locking mechanism and a blade 95 mm long and 3.8 mm thick, made of D2 steel with a black finish.
The blade opening (which rotates smoothly on ball bearings), takes place via the flipper tab consisting of the guard with a triangular hole. The latter represents a peculiar trait of Alessandra De Santis' designs; in fact, the two triangular holes on the guard together with the hole, of the same shape, located on the backspacer, recall the three-headed Hydra logo.
The handle consists of black G10 scales, which rest on the nested steel liners.
The G10 scales are made with a particular hexagonal texture, which gives an excellent grip on the instrument. The size and shape of the handle are such as to make it extremely comfortable in all conditions (even when wearing gloves).
To embellish the Yokai there's a red anodized aluminum backspacer, which stands out on the all-black configuration of the knife. Instead of the usual knurling, the spacer is characterized by millings that reflect the trapezoidal segments of the texture of the scales.
